Louisa and Dan

With about 36 guests from around the world, Louisa and Daniel's wedding was as intimate as it could get. Here is what they had to say about their journey and why they chose to get married in India.

"We met and began dating in 2012 when we were just teenagers.

Within a year we took the plunge to travel together for 6 months. We loved it so much that we saved up for a huge trip of a lifetime and set off on our round the world trip. During these 18 months of travel we found a love so deep in one another - we spent every hour of every day together, we conquered our greatest fears together and achieved our greatest achievements together. We explored many new countries and cultures together. However, the culture we fell in love with the most was India - the culture, the people, the food, the colours, the spirituality, everything! India stole our hearts very quickly.

Daniel proposed to Louisa in front of the Taj Mahal in April 2017. It was the most beautiful day!

We didn't even question where in the world we would get married. We just knew it had to be India. We also wanted to show our friends and family exactly why we fell in love with this beautiful country. The days of the wedding truly were the best days of our life. It was just incredible to celebrate our wedding in our favourite country in the world, with our family and friends that we hadn't seen for 3 years.

We have now been to India several times, we have travelled both the north and the south of India by train and bus. Kerala was amongst our favourite state. The tea plantations in Munnar and the backwaters of Alleppey were just beautiful. India holds an extremely special place in our hearts.

The 7 and a half years we have spent together has been a magical roller coaster full of adventures and excitement. We have so far been lucky enough to live life OUR way.
(Our dream is to emigrate to India with a start-up business! We are in very early stages of planning this)."

Louise and Daniel had an Indian Hindu wedding a day prior to this White wedding of theirs that we were privileged to document.
